With the temperatures climbing over the next few days please take extra care of yourselves and the fish.
.Fish Welfare
· Minimise the amount of bait used to prevent water quality issues.
· Keep handling to a minimum and always over a wet unhooking mat.
· Rest fish fully before release
· Avoid using keepnets where possible.
· Keep an eye on the water and report any signs of fish in distress as algal blooms can cause dissolved oxygen levels to crash.
Angler Welfare
· Stay hydrated and take regular shade breaks
· Wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
· Know the signs of heat exhaustion.
A little extra care goes a long way in warm weather.
Look after the fish, look after yourselves and others, and enjoy your time on the bank.
If you see any fish in distress please contact the club
